The San Beda College with the power of autonomy granted by CHED for five (5) years created a consortium with the Loyola Medical College Foundation, Inc. to establish the San Beda College of Medicine. On March 9, 2002, the Board of Trustees of San Beda College approved the establishment of the fifth unit of San Beda, the San Beda College of Medicine. It offered a four (4) year course leading to the Degree of Doctor of Medicine. The College opened its portals for the school term 2002-2003 at its temporary home on the 5th floor of Summit One Tower Building, 530 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City to one hundred and forty-three (143) first year medical students. One year later, on June 16, 2003, the College of Medicine transferred to the San Beda College Main Campus at Mendiola Street, Manila. It occupied the St. Benedict’s Hall. By 2005-2006, the College of Medicine had the full complement of year levels with the Clinical clerks (4th year medical students).

The university is 3km from the busy street in the city center, 6Km from train station and 40Km from Shijiazhuang Airport. What’s more, it is 290Km from Beijing Capital Airport and it only takes 2 hours from our university to Beijing by train or bus.

Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) in China

Academic Strength & Environment

Guangzhou Medical University (GMU), founded in 1958, situated near the Liuhua Lake Park in the center of Guangzhou, is a full-time medical University. GMU is qualified by Ministry of Education, China to recruit international medical students in English since 2010.

Guangzhou Medical University is composed of four campuses,the Main Campus is located in Dongfeng Xi Road and the other three campuses respectively located in Longdong, Haizhu and Jianggao.

       There are School of Basic Science, School of Health Management, School of Public Health, Nursing School,Graduate School, School of Continuing Education , as well as three clinical schools combined with affiliated hospitals in GMU.

Program Description

The Ministry of Education, China announced strict measures known as Interim Provisions for Quality Control Standards on Undergraduate Medical Education in English for International Students in China in the year 2007, and since then, it has been publishing the list of medical schools which have are qualified to recruit international MBBS students in English medium. Guangzhou Medical University is one of the 34 medical schools, in the year 2010, which were qualified by MOE to recruit international MBBS students in English medium. GMU strictly follows the regulations of MOE, China, with regard to policies to recruit international MBBS students in English medium, in order to impart quality medical education such as course duration, internship, course curriculum, teachers’qualification, admission criteria, etc.


 

 

   Course Duration

As per criteria established by MOE, China, course duration for MBBS in English medium is 6 years which includes one year internship in the affiliated hospitals of GMU.

Degree Awarded
MBBS Degree

On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the GMU, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master’s degree.

Internship and Career

The internship starts from the last year with duration of 48 weeks. Students need to do the internship in the affiliated hospitals of Guangzhou Medical University. Before the internship, students need to reach HSK 3. The internship will be taken in the 8 affiliated hospitals of GMU with a total of more than 52,92 beds. During internship, students can still live in the dormitory.

Guangxi Medical University in China

ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Guangxi Medical University is located in Nanning, Guangxi, China and is one of the oldest higher education medical institutions in China. In 2010, the university was voted one of the top 20 universities in China for medicine study. The university was established in Nanning, Guangxi on 21 November 1934 as the Guangxi Provincial Medical School the campus was moved to Guilin in November 1949, shortly after the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

Established in 1934, the university is one of the first universities in China to accept international students into its English language medical education program, which is limited only to clinical medicine. Foreign students on scholarship are required to study all their courses in Mandarin Chinese.

China Three Gorges University (CTGU) in China

ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Having been approved by the Ministry of Education, China Three Gorges University (CTGU) was founded on June 29, 2000, comprising the former Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering/Yichang and Hubei Sanxia University. Its development has been incorporated into the "Tenth five-Year Plan" and "Eleventh five-Year Plan" of Hubei Provincial Government. In 2009, Hubei Provincial Government and the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China signed an agreement to co-build CTGU.

CTGU consists of 26 colleges. There are 60 specialties for undergraduate students which cover 9 fields.
